Gunman shot by Boulder police dies

The man shot by police in Boulder on Sunday has died.

Police said multiple people called 911 at 2:15 p.m. reporting that a man with a gun was under the Broadway Bridge in Central Park shooting into the water.

"Preliminary information indicates that when two officers made contact with the suspect he pointed a gun at them," Boulder police said in a statement to Denver7.

Police said two officers fired at the suspect. The man was taken to Boulder Community Hospital, but he did not survive.

Police identified the man who was shot and killed as Bryson Fischer of Erie.

No officers were injured in the shooting.

Investigators are asking any additional witnesses who saw the shooting to call 303-441-4455.

Sunday, police said they were searching for another person, but no other information has been released.
