If you enjoy swimming at the Boulder Reservoir, some bad news for you: The swim area will be closed at least through Thursday, June 9, due to elevated levels of bacteria.
"Swimming was temporarily suspended this afternoon as a precaution when a routine water sampling test determined bacteria levels to be elevated," said Sarah Huntley, a spokesperson for the City of Boulder, in a statement sent to Denver7. "The increased levels are believed to be the result of rain runoff," she said, adding that the swim area would reopen once bacteria levels are reduced.
