Organizers have cancelled the New Year’s Day Boulder Polar Plunge at the Boulder Reservoir.
The Daily Camera reports they cite a lack of organization time. The Boulder County AIDS Projects used to handle the planning. The American Cancer Society took over recently.
The 2015 plunge was the event’s 32nd annual.
Boulder's Parks and Recreation Department said The American Cancer Society wants to bring it back in 2017.
There will not be an event at the reservoir in its place on Jan. 1, 2016.
Boulder County AIDS Project took over the Polar Plunge in 2013, and chose to drop it to use “limited resources” on larger fundraisers.
