BOULDER, Colo. -- Boulder officials have lifted a summerlong ban on ice cream at city pool snack bars.
Ice cream was reintroduced at city pools this week, according to the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper. Visitors can now purchase a "Chocolate Scooter" or an ice cream sandwich. The two options were selected during a July taste test administered by the Parks and Recreation Department.
Officials have decided to bring back the sweet treats after removing ice cream as a snack bar option because of its high sugar and fat levels earlier this summer.
At the time, Boulder's district services manager, Alison Rhodes, had said the move was in support of "promoting the community's health."
