BOULDER, Colo. -- A bear who took an early morning nap in west Boulder on Wednesday was pretty much left alone after officials realized it posed no risk to residents in the area.
The bear climbed up a tree in the area of 5th Street and University Avenue at around 8:30 am. Wednesday, according to the Boulder Daily Camera.
Though animal control officers were on scene to monitor the bear, the animal was largely inactive and officers said it won't be disturbed.
"He's pretty popular around here, we've been hearing," Boulder animal control officer Chris Reich told the Daily Camera.
Reich believes the bear is about 3-years-old.
