AURORA, Colo. – If you were planning on hiking the trails at Jewell Wetlands Park in Aurora you may want to change your plans.
That’s because Aurora Parks, Recreation and Open Space officials announced Friday evening they were closing all trails within Jewell Wetlands to users due to increased coyote sightings.
'“This is expected to be a short-term, seasonal closure that will last only a few weeks,” officials said in a Facebook post. “This effort is aimed at reducing conflict and protecting wildlife, citizens and their pets.”
Officials did not release any other information regarding the increased sightings.
