Teen fighting cancer named honorary officer

Posted

A teenager fighting cancer has been named an honorary police officer with the Aurora Police Department.

Ben Brewer, 14, was diagnosed with Stage IV Neuroblastoma when he was two years old.

"Since then his cancer has relapsed four times, and he is currently undergoing treatment," Aurora Police said.

Brewer's dream is to be a police officer, so he was made an honorary officer Wednesday.

"Ben continues to fight with such will and determination that we all need to sit back and learn from this truly special young man," police said.

Ben got a hat, photos with other officers and a ride along Wednesday.
