One person is in the hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot by officers.
Aurora police said they pulled over a vehicle at 11:04 p.m. Sunday on a routine traffic stop on Iliff, near Interstate 225.
However, police said one passenger in the vehicle got out and ran.
"The officers gave chase, and at some point the suspect produced a handgun. One Aurora Police officer discharged their firearm striking the adult male suspect," police said in a statement sent to Denver7.
The suspect was taken to the hospital.
No officers were injured, police said.
Three other people in the vehicle were detained, police said.
