A suspect accused of shooting an Aurora homeowner after an altercation late Christmas night has been arrested by police.

Phi Pham, 33, was arrested Saturday in connection to a shooting in the area of E. Dartmouth Drive and E. Hampden Avenue. Police got reports of the shooting at around 9:45 p.m. Friday.

When officers arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The man was immediately taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed Pham and the victim got into some type of altercation inside the residence before Pham allegedly fired at the victim. He then left the scene of the crime, according to APD Sergeant Chris Amsler.

The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner once he is positively identified and next of kin have been notified.

Court records show Pham has been arrested for driving under the influence and for assault.
