Crews suspended the search for a missing kayaker after they spent all afternoon trying to find the person who went into a low head diversion dam in the South Platte River around noon on Friday in Morgan County.
The multiple agencies working the water rescue will resume their search on Saturday, according to Morgan County Undersheriff Dave Martin.
The search began after a man said he was kayaking with another friend six miles east of Fort Morgan on the South Platte River, when he saw his friend go into a low head diversion dam, according to Martin. The kayak came out, but the man's friend was nowhere to be seen.
Multiple agencies including the Morgan County Sheriff's Office, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Evans Fire Department, Kersey Fire Department and the Morgan County Ambulance Service.
