DENVER — A young girl remained in critical condition Tuesday after a shooting off South Federal Boulevard on Monday afternoon, police said.
Officers are still searching for the suspect, who was described by police as a Latino man in his 20s, wearing pajamas and glasses and driving a 2000-2004 Outback SUV. Anyone who recognizes the suspect or the vehicle is asked to call police.
A man was also injured in the shooting and he has been released from the hospital, police said.
The shooting happened about 4:30 p.m. Monday in a parking lot near the intersection of Federal and Bates Avenue.
Police said the male victim was taking pictures of a vehicle that had a wheel on the sidewalk when the suspect came out of a business and began firing shots at the victims.
The victims were believed to have been picking up food from a restaurant in the parking lot. It was unclear if anything else led up to the shooting.
"This is a very sad and senseless case," police Lt. Matt Clark said at a news conference Tuesday.
