ARVADA, Colo. — A man sitting in the Garfield County Jail is being eyed by Arvada investigators as a suspect in the death of a 38-year-old woman whose body was found in a car Friday morning.
Arvada police obtained an arrest warrant Wednesday for Christopher Moffat, 36, for the charge of first degree murder in the death of Veronica Sarinana.
Moffat is currently is being held on the Western Slope on unrelated charges, according to a release from the Arvada Police Department.
Just before 10 a.m. Friday, Arvada officers responded to the area of 6400 Welch Court on the report of a body in a vehicle.
When officers arrived, they discovered Sarinana’s body inside the vehicle. Autopsy results revealed the cause of her death as a homicide, the release read.
Arvada police said Sarinana and Moffat knew each other. However, their exact relationship is unknown at this time.
