AURORA, Colo. – The woman shot Monday afternoon on East Mississippi Avenue in Aurora died Tuesday afternoon, and police are still looking for the suspect who pulled the trigger.
Police hadn’t released information about the victim of the shooting until Tuesday afternoon, when they said she was an adult woman. Her identity will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office once she is positively identified and her next-of-kin are notified.
The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of South Havana Street and East Mississippi Avenue on Aurora’s edge. Police said the woman’s vehicle and another were headed eastbound on Mississippi when shots were fired from one of the cars.
The suspect fled the scene after the woman’s vehicle crashed into others. Her vehicle’s back window was shot out.
