LAKEWOOD, Colo. — One woman died in a shooting along W. Colfax Avenue in Lakewood Tuesday afternoon.
At 1:28 p.m. Tuesday, the Lakewood Police Department responded to the Safeway on the 9100 block of W. Colfax Avenue for a report of a person shot.
When they arrived, police said they found a woman with an apparent gunshot wound. They began life-saving measures before the woman was transported to a hospital, where she died.
Her identity has not been released.
The Lakewood Police Department said the investigation is "complex." They have interviewed several witnesses.
Police have not made an arrest in this case. They said they believe it was an isolated incident and that there isn't a danger to the public.
No other information was available as of Wednesday morning.
