COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Authorities said witnesses to a shooting outside a Chipotle restaurant in Commerce City Monday night prevented the suspect from taking off before police arrived.

The male suspect shot another man during what police called a property dispute in the restaurant’s parking lot located in the 5900 block of Dahlia Street, according to a release from the Commerce City Police Department.

Police were called to the scene around 7:30 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg and the alleged suspect being detained by witnesses, the release read.

Paramedics transported the victim to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was arrested.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
