WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. – Wheat Ridge police have released photos of the suspect they believe shot a woman during a robbery at an ATM early Wednesday.

Police said the robbery took place at a Chase Bank ATM at 38th and Wadsworth around 5 a.m.

Investigators said the victim tried to escape when she saw that she was being approached by the suspect displaying a handgun by getting into her car.

The suspect reportedly opened the car door and fired once round at the woman, striking her one time. The woman reportedly then drove herself and her 4-year-old child, who was unharmed, to a local hospital. She was released later that morning.

Police said the suspect, who is considered armed and dangerous, is still on the loose. He is described as a black man in his 40s, wearing all black clothing and riding a bike.

If you recognize the man, call Wheat Ridge Police at (303) 237-2220.
