GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. — Two Colorado women — including one who posted sealed court documents on Facebook, complaining about a friend being "ratted" out — have pleaded guilty to federal methamphetamine and heroin charges out of Montrose, authorities said Tuesday.
Angelina Maestas and Naomi Vaughn pleaded guilty to drug distribution charges last week, and Maestas also pleaded guilty to witness tampering for posting the documents on her Facebook page, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Maestas and Vaughn conspired to sell 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, 500 grams or more of a substance with a detectable amount of methamphetamine and less than 100 grams of heroin.
In total, 13 defendants were indicted in the case in January. The other suspects' cases are pending.
Some time after the indictment, Maestas posted documents from grand jury testimony to Facebook and tagged other defendants, according to court records.
In the comments of the Facebook post, Maestas allegedly wrote: "Yep it's from my indictment this fool [redacted] straight ratted my homie out and than had the dirty nerve to say it was me... well it all comes out In the wash and he's names all dirty."
Someone reacted to the post with the comment, "I don't know why snitches don't get stitches no more," the court document said.
A sentencing date has not been set in the case, according to court records.
