Three dead, one injured in Colorado Springs shooting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting near Fort Carson that left three adults dead and sent one to the hospital Wednesday.

Initial reports stated that all four adults were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries but the sheriff's office issued a correction, saying that the three deceased adults died on scene.

The sheriff's office said the shooting occurred on Loomis Avenue around 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. It was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the community, police said.

The condition of the fourth person shot is unknown at this time.

The sheriff's office said more information will be provided at a later time.
