Thieves target 2 rural Jefferson County Post Offices

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — Two recent Post Office burglaries in Jefferson County is leaving many wondering if their personal information has been compromised.

The burglaries occurred over the past week days apart at the Idledale Post Office and the Indian Hills Post Office.

The U.S. Postal Inspection Service said several packages, pieces of outgoing mail, and PO box mail were taken in the burglaries.

Postal authorities say victims should monitor their bank accounts and report any suspicious activity.

The Postal Inspection Service is offering a $5,000 reward for information that could lead them to the thieves.
