Teenager accused of shooting brother in Larimer County turns himself in

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. -- A teenager accused of shooting his brother during an argument in Larimer County this weekend has turned himself in, according to deputies with the Larimer County Sheriff's Office. 

The shooting happened around 2 a.m. Saturday in the area of 400 South Overland Trail, which is east of the Colorado State University's Foothill Campus.

"Two brothers had gotten into an argument, and one had shot the other and then left the scene," according to a press release from the Larimer County Sheriff's Office.

The victim was taken to the hospital. There was no information provided about his condition.

At around 8:15 p.m. Saturday, the suspect, who has not been identified, contacted the lead investigator and offered to surrendered himself to authorities, according to a Sheriff's Office deputy.

The teenager was taken into custody and is being held on allegations of first-degree assault.
