THORNTON, Colo. -- A stabbing suspect was arrested after a short chase in Thornton early Saturday morning, police said.
The stabbing took place at an apartment complex in the area of Thornton Parkway and Colorado Boulevard at around 2:30 a.m.
Once officers got to the scene, they found three people who had been stabbed. All were taken to a hospital and are now listed as stable.
Witnesses who spoke to investigators described a suspect vehicle who left the scene of the crime before police could get there. Police searched and found the vehicle half-a-mile from the crime scene, in the area of Thornton Parkway and Steele Street.
The suspect, a 20-year-old man, reportedly got out of the car and took off on foot after police tired to stop him, officials said. He was later arrested in a nearby neighborhood.
Police said the suspect was also suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to a hospital where he is also reported as stable.
Officers said this appears to be a domestic violence-related incident.
