TELLER COUNTY, Colo. — A Teller County man accused of shooting at another man Thursday morning was arrested after a fiery standoff near Florissant, authorities said.

David Strang, 49, faces a charge of attempted murder, according to the Teller County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies were called about 8:45 a.m. Thursday to a home on Valley View Drive, north of Florissant, where a man reported that he had been shot at by another man, with rounds striking his vehicle. The victim gave deputies the suspect's address.

Deputies arrived in the 300 block of Valley View Drive and learned that the suspect, Strang, had a warrant for his arrest on charges of felony menacing in a domestic violence incident in December.

Deputies tried to take Strang into custody but he wouldn't come out of his home. Eventually, crews noticed smoke and flames coming out of an upstairs window, and Strang came outside.

He was arrested and taken to the Teller County Jail.
