GOLDEN, Colo. (AP) — Multiple people, including two juvenile inmates, were injured during what was described as a riot at a youth corrections facility west of Denver.
Police say an inmate instigated the disturbance in a housing unit at the Lookout Mountain Youth Services Center in Golden on Wednesday evening. Nearly a dozen staff members received minor injuries, and two were taken to the hospital.
All other units in the facility were put on lockdown, and the inmate thought to have started the melee has been separated from the general population while investigators try to piece together what happened.
No other information has been released.
