WESTMINSTER, Colo. — A driver involved in a fight with another driver was shot during a road rage incident in Westminster Monday, a Westminster police release stated.

The shooting victim was not seriously injured, police say. The alleged shooter remained on scene. Both were transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officers got the call around 1:40 p.m. They arrived in the 10700 block of Sheridan Boulevard and found both drivers at the scene.

Police said the two were involved in a physical altercation before officers arrived, but it had turned violent after one of the drivers produced a handgun and shot the other driver.

The road rage incident that sparked the altercation is not known at this time, police said.

The names of those involved were not released. It's unclear if any charges will be filed.

This is the second road rage shooting on Colorado roads in as many days.

Loveland police said a man possibly driving drunk in a stolen car shot at another motorist after making a lane change on East Eisenhower Boulevard Sunday morning. No one was injured in that incident.
