EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. – Two more suspects wanted in connection with the murders of two Colorado Springs teens found dead south of Fountain on March 12 were arrested Friday, according to El Paso County Sheriff's Office deputies.
Breeana Eloise Dahlberg, 20, was taken into custody Friday afternoon on charges of second-degree kidnapping. On Friday evening, Carlos Meza, who also goes by "Tink" -- and who was wanted by authorities since Tuesday -- was found along Fountain Creek's bank hiding under a log. He was taken into custody on a charge of possession of a weapon by a previous offender. Both will be booked into the Criminal Justice Center, deputies said in a news release.
Authorities are still searching for EndoVelarde, 17, also known as “Sleepy."
Velarde is a Hispanic man described as 5-foot-8 and 135 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is wanted on felony charges related to the murders of Derek Greer, 15, and Natalie Partida, 16.
The sheriff’s office said Velarde is a known previous offender and that anyone who sees him should call 911 and not approach him.
On Wednesday, deputies took Angelita Prado, 21, into custody on kidnapping charges. A day before, another man was arrested in connection to the murder. This past Saturday, the sheriff’s office arrested four others on various charges relating to the teens’ deaths, including murder, kidnapping, robbery and child abuse. And on March 19, Gustavo Antonio Marquez, 19, was arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of aggravated robbery and one count of child abuse resulting in death in the case.
So far, nine people have been arrested in this case with Velarde still outstanding.
Investigators have not said how the teens were killed.
