Police say domestic dispute led to shooting in Evans

EVANS, Colo. — Police in Evans are investigating a shooting they say started out as a domestic dispute Saturday night.

The shooting happened around 9 p.m. in the 6300 block of Burgundy Street. A 31-year-old woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to Weld County court records, Joshua Valenciano was arrested in the case faces two counts of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon and one count of third-degree assault. Valenciano is also charged with reckless endangerment and prohibited use of a weapon. The incident remains under investigation.
