DENVER — Denver police said they investigated a stabbing on Wednesday afternoon in the same areas as Tuesday’s shooting in the area of Cole Middle School, but the incidents are not related.

Cole Middle School, Cole High School, Cole Arts & Sciences Academy Elementary School and Whittier ECE-8 School were briefly put on lockout due to police activity in the area.

Law enforcement said this stabbing happened at 3400 N. Downing St. and is not related to any school, or the shooting that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

The suspect is described as a black male standing about 6 feet, 1 inch and 220 pounds. He is bald and was last seen wearing a white shirt and red and blue pants.

Police said the person who was stabbed and the suspect had fought before the incident. The wounded person was transported to a nearby hospital in unknown condition.
