COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The 2009 Dodge pickup involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist Friday afternoon has been located, but no arrest has been made, police announced Saturday.
Authorities were seeking the pickup after a fatal collision involving a motorcycle at the intersection of East 72nd Place and Magnolia Street in Commerce City around 4:35 p.m. Friday.
Paramedics transported the motorcyclist, whose injuries were described at the time of transport as potentially life-threatening, to a local hospital for treatment. However, police later announced the motorcyclist had died. The victim’s name has not been released.
Immediately after the crash, police issued a Medina Alert in an effort to get the public’s help in locating the truck. But police said they found the 2009 Dodge pickup near U.S. 36 and Pecos Street in unincorporated Adams County and canceled the alert.
It’s not clear if police have located or identified a suspect at this time.
