COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Colorado Springs police said Wednesday they have arrested a serial bank robber.

Police said they arrested Joshua George Brown, 32, in connection to a string of bank robberies that began September 7. Brown is facing charges for 11 different cases, including 8 between September 22 and September 25.

Brown targeted eleven different banks during his crime spree, according to Colorado Springs police. Ten of them are in Colorado Springs. The other is in Monument.

Brown is accused of targeting the TCF Bank branch inside the King Soopers at 815 Cheyenne Mountain Road twice in a 24-hour span. Police say in a news release he tried to rob the bank on Friday night, but was not successful. He tried again Saturday afternoon, according to police, and got away with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the cases all followed a similar pattern: Brown gave bank tellers a note demanding money. He got away with cash in six of those cases, according to police. The other five cases are listed as “attempted” robberies.

Brown was arrested without incident on September 27. No court date has been set.

Colorado Springs police haven’t commented on a possible motive.
