COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – A woman was arrested by police in Colorado Springs at the beginning of this month after allegedly attacking hotel guests and trying to run over one of its employees.

Police were dispatched to a hotel in Geyser Drive at around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of an “out of control” woman who reportedly hit a juvenile guest with a vase and used her car to ram parked cars, one of which had a 3-year-old child inside, according to police.

Investigators said the suspect, identified as 47-year-old Erin Batiste, also “removed eggs and bleach from her car” and threw them at hotel guests.

The woman was stopped by people in the area after she tried to run over an employee and a guest with her car, police said.

Batiste was not staying at the hotel and none of the victims had ever seen her before, police said, adding it was later determined she was driving a stolen SUV.

“It’s unclear what caused the suspect to commit these crimes,” said a Colorado Springs Lieutenant in a news release.

Batiste, who is being held at the El Paso County Jail, is facing more than a dozen charges including five counts of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, five counts of felony menacing with a real/simulated weapon, two counts of child abuse knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injuries, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon, reckless driving, criminal mischief, and motor vehicle theft.

She is being held on a $25,000 bond. Her next court appearance is May 13.
