AURORA, Colo. — An officer-involved shooting in north Aurora left one person dead Monday morning.
Police were called to E. Montview Boulevard and Iola Street around 1:30 a.m. on a report of someone breaking into a home.
"Officers arrived on scene and heard gunfire," said Officer Ken Forrest, an Aurora Police Department spokesperson.
"They confronted an armed male, who was armed with a firearm," he said. "The male was shot by our officers and has been transported to a local hospital where he has been declared deceased."
Officers said they found a deceased man in the home.
Investigators were working to determine which man was the suspected intruder.

E. Montview Boulevard was closed between Jamaica and Havana Streets until 5:30 a.m.
