Man guilty on 3 counts of murder in Denver triple homicide

DENVER — A man was convicted on three counts of first-degree murder for the deathsof three people near a Denver light rail station last year.

A Denver jury on Friday found Maurice Butler, 39, guilty for the August 9, 2018 shooting deaths of three transients — Christopher Zamudio, 45, Nicole Boston, 28, and Jerome Coronado, 39.

Police found their bodies the next morning near a light rail station near Broadway and I-25 in Denver.

Bulter was arrested three days after the bodies were discovered on unrelated drug charges.

An unpaid drug debt was established as the primary motive for the murders.

Butler is scheduled to be sentenced Friday.
