FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) — A man convicted of killing a Fort Collins mother, whose body was found in a lake in June, has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reports 28-year-old Jeffrey Etheridge was sentenced Monday after he pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in January.

Prosecutors say Etheridge recorded the sexual assault and killing of 23-year-old Heather "Helena" Hoffmann on 14 cellphone videos that were recovered by police. Prosecutors say the videos show Etheridge bragging about the attacks.

Prosecutors say Etheridge was lurking at the Fort Collins City Park when he selected Hoffman as his victim.

The Larimer County coroner previously determined that Hoffmann had significant blunt force injuries and drowned.

Etheridge offered no apology, but he told the court that justice was not served.
