COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – A 21-year-old man who was arrested in a pellet gun shooting spree that damaged at least 100 vehicles in Commerce City was charged Thursday for the crime.
Tomas Medina-Martinez, 21, was charged with felony criminal mischief and contributing to the delinquency of a minor for reportedly going on a vandalism spree alongside an unidentified 15-year-old and targeting the windows of more than 100 vehicles in the city.
Police began receiving calls from residents in the southern area of the city around 7 a.m. on Jan. 18, reporting that the windows of their vehicles were shot out by an apparent pellet gun the previous evening, a previous news release from the department stated.
Martinez and the juvenile were arrested after a resident reported a suspicious vehicle on Ivanhoe Street. A pellet gun and ammo were also recovered, police said.
Martinez’s next court appearance is at 9 a.m. on March 5 in Adams County Court.
