LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A man accused of seriously injuring two elderly women during a carjacking earlier this month appeared in Jefferson County court Wednesday.

Robert Eugene Harrison, 42, was charged with four counts each of attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and aggravated robbery. He was also charged with two counts each of robbery and theft of an at-risk adult.

On Oct. 12, Harrison allegedly stole a white Lincoln sedan from two women, ages 78 and 89, during a carjacking at 490 Benton Street in Lakewood. It is alleged that Harrison stole the Lincoln by pulling the two elderly women from the vehicle and running them over as he drove away.

Both women were seriously injured and transported to the hospital.

Harrison was arrested two days later following a chase through three cities across the Denver metro.

Harrison is facing additional charges of vehicular eluding and obstructing a peace officer. He is being held on a $1 million bond at the Jefferson County jail.
