Man arrested in stabbing at Vail park, police say

VAIL, Colo. — A 51-year-old man was arrested in the stabbing of another man at a park in Vail on Saturday, police said.

Brian Albert Wibergh, 51, of Vail, faces charges of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, felony menacing, harassment and animal cruelty.

Officers had responded about 4 p.m. Saturday to a report of an armed person at Buffehr Creek Park at 1953 N. Frontage Road. When police arrived, they found the victim with a stab wound to the right side of his torso.

The man was taken to Vail Health for treatment. His injuries were not life-threatening.
