Man arrested in Georgia in connection with 2020 Aurora homicide

AURORA, Colo. — Police in Aurora announced Tuesday a second arrest in a July 2020 homicide.

Dontavious Hetzel, 28, was arrested in Georgia on suspicion of accessory to first-degree murder for his alleged role in the murder of a 31-year-old man in Aurora last year.

Hetzel remains in a Georgia jail awaiting extradition to Colorado. He is the second arrest in the case after the unidentified victim was found shot to death in the area of East Colfax Avenue and North Beeler Street around 1:45 a.m. July 5, 2020.

Master Titus Uriah Martin, 20, was arrested in September of last year on a first-degree murder warrant in connection with the shooting death. He is also a suspect in a separate shooting nearby two days after the July 5 homicide, according to police.

Crystal Black, 36, and Moses John Hamm, 44, were killed in a double shooting in the 1500 block of Beeler Street on July 7, according to Adams County coroner's office.
