DENVER — A man has been indicted after he was accused of pointing a green laser at a Denver police helicopter during election protests in November.
Logan Scott Debyle of Denver faces a federal charge of pointing a laser at an aircraft, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
An affidavit said Debyle on Nov. 4 pointed a green laser at the cockpit of a Denver Police Department helicopter as the helicopter monitored protests following the election.
“We are proceeding with this and other matters to ensure that laws are enforced both here in Denver, as well as at the United States Capitol,” U.S. Attorney Jason Dunn said in a news release. “Peaceful protests will be protected, but lawless rule breaking will not be tolerated.”
Debyle faces up to five years in prison or a fine of up to $250,000.
