DENVER – The man accused of using a Freddy Krueger-liked bladed glove to stab another man to death last month was charged Thursday with first-degree murder after deliberation.

Christian Lee Gulzow, 36, is accused of killing 29-year-old Brian Lucero in an alley outside the Torchy’s Tacos at 11th and Broadway and Denver in the early-morning hours of May 23.

The two men had been in a confrontation at a nearby convenience store before the altercation, in which Lucero was stabbed in the neck.

Gulzow was wearing white makeup with black streaks down his face, and had a glove with 2 to 3-inch blades on it, according to his arrest affidavit. Social media accounts of his show multiple photos of Gulzow in similar makeup, as well as other gory videos he posted.

Gulzow told police officers the victim had threatened him and told him to "get out of my alley" before stealing his scooter. Gulzow said he tackled the victim in order to get his scooter back and didn't know that he'd stabbed the man.

Gulzow left the scene after the alleged stabbing, and police said they found him covered in blood nearby after he allegedly threw the murder weapon into nearby bushes.

Gulzow remains held without bond at the Denver jail. His next court appearance has yet to be scheduled.
