DENVER – Police have arrested a man for investigation on murder and assault charges in connection with the Wednesday shooting that left two people dead and another with critical injuries.

Angel Matthew Gallegos, 18, was being held for investigation on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree assault for the shooting that happened around 1 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of North Perry Street in Denver.

Denver police said they could not release Gallegos’ mug shot or the probable cause statement for his arrest because the investigation is ongoing and witnesses are still being interviewed.

Police had said after the shooting that there were two Hispanic male suspects: one wearing a red hoodie and another wearing a dark T-shirt and shorts.

The identities of the victims in the shooting has not been released by the coroner’s office.
