LAKE COUNTY, Colo. -- Undersheriff Fernando Mendoza is no longer employed by the Lake County Sheriff's Office amid allegations that he repeatedly sexually harassed fellow female employees.
Denver7 broke the story of three female dispatchers who claimed that the former undersheriff was harassing them on and off the job.
One of the women claiming sexual harassment told Denver7 she learned of his termination last Wednesday.
District Attorney Bruce Brown said he is still investigating the claims, but told Denver7 Mendoza has not been with the office since Nov. 20.
Calls to Lake County Sheriff Rodney Fenske have not been returned. A Denver7 reporter who called the Lake County Sheriff's Office and asked to speak with Undersheriff Mendoza was told he no longer works there.
