Hit-and-run driver in southwest Denver crash sought by Denver police after victim dies in hospital

DENVER – It’s been nearly three weeks since a pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle while walking at night in southwest Denver died, and police are now asking for your hep to bring the driver to justice.

At around 8:35 p.m. on May 22, Denver Police officers responded to a hit-and-run on W. Alameda Avenue, between S. Yuma Street and S. Tejon Street.

An investigation into the case revealed the driver of vehicle was going east on West Alameda in the left lane when the vehicle hit the pedestrian, according to a Crime Alert bulletin released by Denver Police Monday.

The driver reportedly continued traveling east without stopping. The victim in the hit-and-run would later die at a local hospital, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Denver Metro Crime Stoppers at (720) 913-7867. Tipsters can remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
