Fugitive Friday: Woman convicted of attempted child sex assault has again failed to register

Posted

DENVER – A Denver woman is wanted for failing to register as a sex offender for the second time in less than a year.

Genevieve Zarzoza, 36, was convicted in 2002 of the attempted sexual assault of a child from a June 2001 case in Denver. She had several other child sexual assault charges in that case dismissed in a plea deal.

But she has had several run-ins with the law since, including a DUI in Aurora in September 2015 that she pleaded guilty to in January 2016.

But she failed to verify her status as a sex offender in Arapahoe County last year, which she pleaded guilty to in July and served 30 days in jail for.

And the Denver Sheriff Department obtained another warrant on Jan. 10 of this year for Zarzoza, as she again failed to register as an offender.

Zarzoza is describe as a white female, 5 feet 5 inches tall, 220 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Anyone with information on Zarzoza’s whereabouts is asked to call the Denver Sheriff Department at 720-337-0194.
