DENVER – The Colorado Bureau of Investigation and Boulder County Sheriff’s Office is asking for help in finding one of the state’s most-wanted sex offenders.

Michael Wayne Kline, who also goes by “James Williams,” is wanted out of Boulder County for failing to register as a sex offender. The 44-year-old man had a warrant issued for his arrest out of Boulder County for failing to register in June 2015.

Kline was convicted in 1999 of second-degree criminal sexual conduct, though the conviction was in a different state, according to Colorado court records.

Kline was most-recently seen by Colorado authorities when he pleaded guilty to false reporting in April 2015.

Kline is a white male who is described as 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, with blue eyes and gray hair. He is the state’s No. 23 most-wanted sex offender.

Anyone with knowledge of Kline’s whereabouts is asked to call the CBI 24-hour tipline at 303-239-5732, the anonymous CrimeStoppers hotline at 1-800-222-TIPS, or the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office at 303-441-3600.
