EVERGREEN, Colo. – An Evergreen man faces investigation on a second-degree murder charge after he allegedly shot and killed a man who’d been living at his home Sunday afternoon.
David D. Claussen, 46, is expected to make his first court appearance Monday at 10 a.m. in a Jefferson County court.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Claussen and 33-year-old Alexander Hudspeth had been arguing over Hudspeth’s continuing to live at Claussen’s home, located in the 7700 block of Highway 73.
When deputies arrived to the home, they found Hudspeth lying in the driveway of the home unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his chest. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The sheriff’s office said Claussen had a handgun and shot Hudspeth during the argument. Further details about the incident were not immediately available Monday morning.
