ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — A man who volunteered at a metro Denver church was arrested on suspicion of child sex assault.
Joseph Potts, 31, turned himself into the Arapahoe County Jail Thursday afternoon after an arrest warrant was issued by the Arapahoe County’s District Attorney’s Office.
According to a statement from the Englewood Police Department, Potts was a youth volunteer helper at the Jubilee Fellowship Church in 2017 when the alleged assault occurred.

Police began an investigation into the allegations on January 18, 2018, according to the police statement. It’s unclear what prompted the investigation.
Potts is facing several charges including sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, enticement of a child and indecent exposure.
