Driver found shot to death after vehicle is found in Lakewood ditch

LAKEWOOD, Colo. – A suspect remains at-large after police found a person shot to death inside a car in a Lakewood ditch early Saturday night.

Police went to West 9^th Avenue and Allison Street on reports of a shots fired call at around 7 p.m. Once officers got there, they noticed the vehicle in a ditch with the driver inside, shot to death, according to a Lakewood Police Department spokesperson.

The victim has been identified as Phillip Tod Penny, 44. 

Police are investigating the shooting as a homicide. No suspect information was immediately available.
