DENVER -- An AMBER Alert for a teen who was allegedly abducted Friday morning was canceled by police early Saturday after the occupants of the vehicle police were looking for was found in Broomfield.
No abduction or crime was ever committed, police also said.
The alert for a white female in her early teens went out at around 6:45 p.m. Friday. Police initially said she was last seen heading inside a vehicle eastbound on 35th Avenue in Denver after she was reportedly abducted at a Sam's Club Parking lot.
Police were searching for a gray Dodge Caravan bearing Oregon license plate ZEU145 after a witness thought they saw a teen being abducted. That report turned out to be false, a DPD official told Denver7.
Earlier Friday, officers said they were searching for the man and the van in connection to an attempted sex assault near East 35th Avenue and Quebec Street.
