DENVER – Police have identified and are actively looking for the suspect in an Oct. 30 hit-and-run crash that killed a young lawyer.

The Denver Police Department identified Norlan Estrada-Reyes as the suspect in the crash Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of 13th Avenue and Broadway just after 2 a.m. Oct. 30. It took the life of Karina Pulec, 28, an up-and-coming lawyer at Hogan Lovells Law Firm who had been out with friends that night.

Pulec had graduated from Cornell Law School before taking a job in the Bay Area. She had moved back to Colorado last December.

Estrada-Reyes allegedly ditched the white truck he was driving and took off. Police say he was living in Denver at the time of the crash but has not been located so far. The truck was found near the intersection of 8th Avenue and Acoma Street.

Police have obtained a warrant for his arrest on hit-and-run involving death charges and have issued a $2,000 Crime Stoppers reward for tips that lead to his arrest and conviction.

“Whoever did this was a coward,” said former Denver City Attorney Cole Finegan, now the managing partner at Hogan Lovells. “He not only [took] Karina’s life, but ruined the lives of those who loved her and were part of her life.”

Anyone with information on Estrada-Reyes’ whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-STOP.
