COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Police say a man arrested early Thursday morning is one of at least three people in custody tied to 127 commercial burglaries that have happened in Colorado Springs since March.

Devin Scott, 26, was arrested around 3:30 a.m. Thursday after he allegedly broke into a Buffalo Wild Wings on N. Academy Blvd. and unsuccessfully tried to steal the safe from inside, police said.

Police arrested Scott after he left the restaurant and went back to his vehicle, which police say they had been watching.

A special unit has since May been investigating the series of commercial burglaries that started in March. The suspects developed a pattern of breaking into businesses and stealing cash or safes.

Police said they arrested one suspect in the burglaries, 24-year-old Rayvaughn Milne, on a warrant on May 25. But police said the pattern continued and that investigators identified the vehicle the suspects were allegedly using in late July.

Police say investigators used analytical tools to predict potential times and locations of the next burglaries based off the group’s patterns.

They watched the alleged break-in at Buffalo Wild Wings and arrested Scott in the nearby neighborhood where he’d parked his car.

Police said a third suspect is 17 years old and is in custody on other charges. It’s possible that more arrests will be forthcoming, as the investigation is ongoing.
